Join me at our live-work studio at the infamous ARC (1701 Powell Street) for an afternoon of painting while sipping your favourite bevvy.
This month’s theme is all about the beautiful autumn leaves. We’ll create backgrounds with acrylics, then print on them using branches and leaves. Bring out the glowing fall colours or experiment with your own palette, then pick from a variety of branches and leaves to print on top. I’m hoping to gather some of the all-time favourite gingko leaves. (So long as the winds don’t disappear them off the trees before I get there.)
There’ll be some easy how-to instruction, but there are no rules, and you can get as creative as you like. All painting materials are provided: canvases, brushes, paint, plants for printing… We’ll dry everything with hair dryers, so your masterpiece will be safe to take home.
You don’t need any experience. Just dress to make a mess and bring your own booze. Perfect for a date with a difference, friends wanting to try something new, and anyone who just wants to play with paint in a real artists’ studio. Everyone is welcome.
